We’ve been celebrating. Last night we took home the Diversity Champion gong at the this year’s EIS Association Awards.
This year was the first year the association have recognised a member of the industry working hard to level the playing field for start-up founders from different backgrounds.
So we were doubly delighted to be the inaugural winners, and for the judges kind remarks “Very refreshing to see such a broad recognition of diversity – need more to follow their lead”.
There is no positive discrimination within our approach. It is just good investing practice. We have deliberately designed our Start-Up Series to attract the best entrepreneurial talent, from all walks of life and from across the UK, and a distillation process to remove inherent bias. You can see the impact of this in our stats here.
But we have lots to learn and some way to go before we will be satisfied, and the benchmarks show there’s still a long way to go before our industry has collectively stepped up. If you’re interested in joining us to continue to the conversation and discuss ways in which we can all move diversity forward in our space, we’d be delighted to talk. Contact us for a chinwag.
